I’m falling behind my commitment already!

Lots going on in Alabama. There were rallies held yesterday, for and against the Ten Commandments monument of Chief Justice Roy Moore. What is more interesting is the article that ran in the Mobile Register (Legal fees in Commandments case could reach $1 million). That’s right folks, $1 million of Alabama’s taxpayer money will be paid to the plaintiffs attorneys if they win this case (which they will, if the Appeals Court follows established law). The Governor’s spokesperson states that it’s worth it to resolve the dispute one way or the other. I agree. What will be interesting is the firestorm this will cause when it actually occurs. People will scream and yell about the greedy lawyers who were in this all along for the money and how they don’t deserve one red cent of taxpayer dollars.

I hope those who say it is worth it now will be singing the same toon when the check actually has to be written.
