Patriot Act and Surprises
The ACLU released a report today on the Patriot Act. The Justice Department is lying? I, for one, am shocked!

James Joyner directs readers to a RAND study that is being serialized by Atlantic Monthly. The study outlines ten international-security developments that aren’t getting the attention they deserve. This is an outstanding analysis that will be largely ignored now, but when one of these situations follows the path shown it will be pointed to as evidence that we knew what was going to happen. So, pay attention!

After a year off, the renewal of the Blue-Gray All-Star Football Classic is getting closer to reality.Officials with the collegiate all-star game say an announcement regarding the future is premature, but they said they expect to announce a deal with a major title sponsor before the end of the month.
“We’re going to probably make an announcement soon,” said Charlie Anderson, vice-president of the Montgomery Lions Club, which owns the rights to the game. “I feel pretty good about things. I think you can look forward to a major announcement in the not-too-distant future, certainly by the end of this month. It’s good news.”
An interesting development to the return of the game may be the its location. Troy State athletic director Johnny Williams confirmed late Tuesday afternoon that members of the Montgomery Lions Club toured the Trojans’ revamped Movie Gallery Stadium last week to consider playing the game in Troy.
Of course Cramton Bowl could never compete with Movie Gallery Stadium, but are you really going to be able to pull a bigger crowd on Christmas Day in Troy than in Montgomery? This annoucement will cause severe fall-out in the Montgomery-area sports world.
This morning’s Montgomery Advertiser reveals the ticket prices for the first season of Biscuits Baseball.
Tom Dickson, one of the team’s owners, said the 6,000-seat stadium will have three levels of tickets. The best 1,000 seats — called the Gold Club — will go for $12 a game and will primarily be sold as part of a season-ticket package.
Most of the seats will go for $8, while general admission seats and lawn seats will cost $6.
Sounds like a great deal to me. I can’t wait until April.
