The Montgomery Advertiser’s website reports,

About 200 supporters of the Ten Commandments marched to the State Capitol this morning to present a granite plaque of the Ten Commandments to Gov. Bob Riley.

Although Riley was not able to receive the plaque, Toby Roth, the governor’s chief of staff, accepted the plaque on Riley’s behalf.

Supporters clapped and cheered after Roth told him that plans are currently in place to display the plaque in the capitol.

Roth said Thursday he expected the plaque to be on display “within the next couple of days.”

The Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, presented the plaque to Roth and suggested that it be placed in the old Supreme Court chambers in the Capitol. The chambers are located in a room directly behind a bust of the late Gov. Lurleen Wallace.

This story is going to be a perfect illustration of Roy Moore’s grandstanding. I have not seen this plaque, but if it is an appropriate size and not placed in the most conspicous place in the Capitol I am not going to have a problem with it.
