Ludacris Comes to Montgomery - Mayhem Ensues

Ludacris came to Montgomery to try to do something good, and it turned into mayhem

“They clearly weren’t prepared for this or had no idea how big an artist he was,” said Tiffany Jones, of Montgomery, who brought her two children to see the rapper. “Security was inadequate and it was an unsafe environment.”

Jones said she planned to file a complaint with the mall.

Erick Kennedy of Montgomery blamed the crowd.

“People were acting like idiots,” he said. “That’s the problem with this city — anything good that happens is going to be ruined by a bunch of knuckleheads.”

I’m inclined to agree with the second gentleman. They needed more security because of a bunch of idiots who thought they were going to be slick in angling to see Ludacris, but instead ended up ruining the event for everybody. In the end, the mall may not have been the best place to hold this kind of event, but it was still the few that ruined it for the many.

14 Year Old Montgomery Student Shot

A 14 year old student was shot in the face on his way home from school yesterday,

“The doctors told us that they believe that he is going to be all right,” Alexander Brown said. “We are just continuing to hope and pray it stays that way.”

That includes me and I hope all of you. Please keep Dwhan Brown in your thoughts and prayers today.

France ready to rebuild Iraq, ambassador tells Alabamians

The French Ambassador to the US reached out during a visit to Alabama yesterday,

“We had a big difference over the necessity of the war in Iraq, but that’s past, and now together we have to make Iraq a success story,” said Jean-David Levitte, France’s ambassador to the United States.

“If the elections take place at the end of January as we hope, and we support the process, then it will create a new situation which will help other countries like France to join more and more.”

Will they still be willing to help out more even if the security situation is still as unstable as it is today? What exactly are they offering?
