Pryor avoids new hearing on his judicial nomination Headline

Former Alabama Attorney General Bill Pryor will not have to go back before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Sen. Arlen Specter plans to try to move Pryor’s nomination without a new hearing. Good luck with that.

Telephone company funded ad

I find it laughable that BellSouth could demand to know who is funding ads opposing deregulation of the telecom industry. They can use every sleazy trick in the book to get what they want, but those who oppose them (who it now appears include at least one other telephone company) better fully disclose their activities. I don’t think anyone can predict what deregulation would bring, it could bring lower prices, it could bring higher prices. That’s the whole point of deregulation, there is no control.
