R.I.P. Russ and Dee Fine
Don’t celebrate too much, I don’t think Russ and Dee Fine have actually left this life yet. However, we can celebrate the fact that these piles of hate are no longer on the air. It is odd that I can find no online acknowledgement of the fact, but they are no longer listed on the schedule on their own station’s website and I have received confirmation that it was reported in the print edition of the Birmingham News.
For those of you that don’t know, one of my posts is one of the most popular search engine results for Russ and Dee and they spent some time attacking the commenters who posted their feelings about the radio hosts, and also attacked me. When I contacted their producer and offered to speak with the Fines when they threatened to sue me (which I didn’t take seriously), I was told it was all publicity and I should be thankful for them as they are thankful for me. I am simply thankful they are gone from the airwaves…for now.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Of course, Russ will say something like it was politically motivated, or whatever.
Rumor on the net has it that they were fired for making such a big deal out of Gov. Riley’s association with a whites-only Mason Lodge. I’d be surprised to find that the Masons have that much power.
The best part of this is that Russ and Dee are gone, but David Frings is still mayor of Alabaster.

Well, I can speak from experience about the Masons in Alabama, as I am one of them. Although, I don’t believe personally in the separation of blacks from the organization it IS a fact. I don’t know Russ and Dee and never listened to their show but from my inside information on the topic it was done in reaction to their asking the question of Gov. Riley’s affiliation with the Masons.
If you don’t think the Masons have that power you are fooling your self, they DO.

The point is not wheither the Masons have that much power, but rather wheither Bob Riley has that much power. The Masons are not changing their stance on african american members, and majority are supposedly proud of that fact. Why would the Masons care if Russ and Dee called them racists if they explicitly state that they do not allow blacks to be members? Bob Riley, however, does not want his reputation tarnished, but at the same time, he does not want to give up his hypocritical ways. He is the one who has the motive, not the Masons. Russ and Dee simply pointed out a FACT.

Anybody who doesn’t think the Masons and Bob Riley had the power to get rid Russ and Dee are really kidding themselves!! R & D knew it was just a matter of time anyway. I liked Russ ok, and most of time I wish Dee had stayed at home, but to get fired for their opinions and views ?!?! hmm, thought this was still America - you know, free speech and all that.

Russ and Dee have finally reaped a small portion of the hate they have sown. They and other CAVE people from this area are the Mark Foleys of Alabama.

Russ and Dee are gone. The only thing that I can say is that a hatefilled cancer has left the Alabama air waves. What some people took as truth justice and the American way, most of us with a conscience and working brain saw as hate mongers, who wanted only their view broadcast. They were taken off the air for one reason, and one reason only, people were tired of their paranoid rantings and ravings. Theiregocentric lust to have the world think as they did.

Russ and DEE was like this, if you disagree with them and you are public servant they will try their best to not get you reelected. The Martin Luther King, boycott really showed where they stood in the black community. Both russ and dee have a chinise name now it is (ONE GONE)

Russ was constantly doing the research that all Americans should have done for themselves, in order to stay informed, since the media quit providing relevant and pertinent information so many years ago. Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with Russ and his findings, you can be sure they were always FACTUAL. The last time I checked, I still lived in America where we have this little thing known as Free Speech. Russ being fired for bringing forth Mr. Riley’s hypocritic ways once again, was another step away from what this country was founded on and one of the many things our soldiers fight for every day. We are allowed to post messages on this web site thanks to that little Free Speech thing. But then again, I don’t suppose you will be upset when you are told that you can no longer speak YOUR mind. I may not miss Dee very much, but Russ will certainly be missed by many Alabamians for the work that he has done when our elected public non-servants would not.

I can assure you that Russ was NOT always factual, nor does this have anything to do with free speech. He has the right to say anything he wants, but not over the public airwaves nor does he have the right to get paid for it. I don’t miss Russ and I hope he never resurfaces for public ears again.
