It’ll Never Happen in Montgomery

I applaud city leaders for bringing John Tyson to explain the program he started in Mobile. Though it is desperately needed, and the right thing to do, our leaders will never make the commitment to prevention that needs to be made. The reality is the children and adolescents who are served by the criminal justice system are known entities long before they commit serious crimes. Intervening early with appropriate services is the key to reducing the burden placed on the system in the future. But no one around here is forward thinking enough to make that happen.

Death Toll up to 17 in Storms

It appears there are now at least 17 deaths resulting from the storms in South Alabama today. A press conference will begin in Enterprise, Alabama shortly.

This is Why…

…the media needs to do its job and bring these things to light. “Business as usual” in Alabama does not equal “legal”.

Because It’s a Mess

Alabama’s two year college system is in crisis. I’m not sure they will find anyone to take it over giving that person the authority to do the thorough house cleaning that is needed. It is one of the biggest centers of corruption and graft in the state and needs to be thoroughly reviewed.

At Least 13 Dead in Alabama Storms

These storms aren’t done. Keep the people of Enterprise, as well as Wilcox County, in your thoughts and prayers.
