Keep it Coming

After denying exactly this last week, Sony announced today that it will be slashing the cost of it’s current model of the PlayStation3 and unveiling a new version with a larger hard drive at the old price. Just tell us the truth and keep bringing that price down, I’m almost ready to get my own.

Jubilee in Danger

Jubilee City Fest is in danger of going away after next year. I don’t think it would necessarily be a bad idea to go to a series of concerts rather than a three day festival. Birmingham and Huntsville both have much larger and more successful weekend festivals (CityStages and Big Spring Jam), we don’t need to try to compete on the same playing field. Use the Riverwalk Amphitheatre, which is a great facility to draw in some name acts throughout the year, that would be a smarter way to go.

Ever Heard of “You Get What You Pay For”?

Alabamians complain louder than most people about the taxes we pay, and yet we pay less than anyone in the country. Isn’t there something inherently flawed there?

“It just says that our governments are trying to do the same things everybody else is trying to do, but they’re trying to do it with a whole lot less money,” said Jim Williams, PARCA’s executive director.

Thank you Mr. Williams! The responsibilities of government are no less here than in any other state, but the do more with less attitude continues to keep us below the standard set by the rest of the country.
