Child Rape at Eastdale Mall Didn’t Happen

People need to know the truth behind the panicked e-mails that have been circulating…

Police say a young girl who alleged she was attacked in a bathroom at an east Montgomery store was not telling the truth.

An 8-year-old girl apparently told her mother Sunday that a man assaulted her, said Capt. Huey Thornton, a Montgomery police spokesman.

“After detectives and the mother of the child questioned her about the accusations, it was determined that the child concocted a story about a rape in order to cover up the fact that she had accidentally urinated on her clothes while inside the restroom,” Thornton said in a statement issued Tuesday.
