Lowndes County sheriff dies at 58
I knew Sheriff Vaughner and ate lunch with him in Camden a little over a year ago. He was a good man and will be missed. My condolences to his wife and the entire community.

Secrecy Surrounding Preacher Death
Montgomery County D.A. Ellen Brooks has ordered the coroner not to release information on the results of Rev. Gary M. Aldridge’s autopsy. While her reasons certainly make sense, it is disconcerting to me as a citizen that we’ve had a number of deaths locally for which no information is being released about whether they were random or not. It’s a little unsettling.
