Troy “the Boy” Continues His Moronic Parade

Troy “the Boy” King continues to show his lack of experience and intelligence. He’s know in a battle with the entire District Attorneys Association (save one member whose brother works for him) over his involvement in a death penalty case. The shooter had his sentence commuted to live without parole, but his accomplice has yet to receive the same consideration. King thinks the boy should be put to death, the DAs say that’s about the most unfair outcome they can think of. Troy says he’s the one standing up for the “victims”, even when going up against a group of people who have made their entire careers really fighting for victims as prosecutors. Troy King was the legal advisor to the Governor prior to becoming Attorney General, he had never been a prosecutor. I applaud the DAs Association for backing one of their own against the idiocy of Troy King.

Kenneth Davis, a district attorney from Russellville and head of the district attorneys’ group, said this rift has potential to damage the working relationship between the prosecutors and the attorney general.

“We need the assistance of the attorney general,” he said. “I hope we can get together to right this wrong.”

UPDATE: This is the piece that really hacks me off because it reminds me so much of Roy Moore, and his pious response to rulings he didn’t like.

But King in his statement said, “The Supreme Court was wrong when it directed that teenage killers be freed from Death Row. District attorneys are wrong when they advocate that these adult accomplices also be freed. I have never agreed with any of them.”

Well, guess what Troy? You’re the chief law enforcement officer in this state, and if you can’t accept rulings of the Supreme Court, you have no business being in that post.
