DCCC hits Jay Love Hard on Healthcare
I think this one is hard-hitting, but effective in making the point.
Transcript:
Healthcare for employees. Jay love thinks it’s nobody’s business — even when it’s his own.
Jay Love admitted that he didn’t provide health insurance for 80% of his employees.
He’s a multimillionaire who owned 16 restarants but he claimed that providing health insurance was just too expensive.
Now Jay Love wants to go to Congress.
How’s he going to stand up for us when he wouldn’t even stand up for his employees?
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising.

I’m not sure why this ad seems to be carrying so much weight. Jay Love owned 16 fast food restaurants. Don’t most fast food restaurants hire mostly minimum wage, part-time employees? Most group healthcare plans require participants to work at least 30 hours per week, which I’d venture to guess most fast-food employeed do not. I’d be interested in knowing how many fast food franchises DO provide health benefits for their employees if the DCCC wants to make a fair comparison.
