Eric Zimmerman at The Hill thinks the 25% number that Artur Davis cites is high, I think it may be low. Artur was asked what percentage of voters will vote purely along racial lines…I believe that figure to be closer to 35%, but the reality is almost all of those who would vote against him because of his race wouldn’t vote for any Democrat and almost all of the voters who will vote for him purely because he’s black would vote for any Democrat. So, I really believe it’s a non-story.
He’s already acknowledged he’s really playing with a fairly small percentage of the electorate 10-15% that can really be swayed one way or the other, so do these 35% really matter?

Interesting point. You may be right, but I think the percentage is higher still. There are a precious few independent voters in Alabama when compared to other areas of the country.

Don’t be too surprised if some Democrats decide to stay home during the General election or don’t cast a vote on the governor’s race.

for me personally, race has nothing to do with it.
i won’t support any individual for public office that played the role artur did in the fannie mae/freddie mac ponzi scheme.
go to youtube. search for fannie mae hearings. listen to the man. look at your 401k. listen to artur’s excuses.
listen to artur campaign on ethics. try not to vomit in your mouth.

Walt,
Why do you think that?

finebammer,
I’m glad you have some other reason, but the point of this post was that there are people who aren’t even open-minded enough to listen to what the man has to say.
Can you be more specific about your issues around Fannie/Freddie? What’s so wrong with Artur’s position?
