Now Tracking Alabama House and Senate Candidates Use of Social Media

I have seen a lot of activity in recent weeks on Facebook and Twitter, indicating that our elected officials and candidates for federal and statewide office are beginning to understand the tools that are available and use them more effectively.  We still have a long way to go, but I am pleased with the recent efforts I have seen.

To that end, I am now tracking participation by candidates for the Alabama House and Alabama Senate, in addition to federal and statewide office candidates, on this page of The World Around You.  Please pass along this resource and if you see information that is missing or inaccurate, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Social media isn’t just about the tools that are out there, but you can’t be part of the conversation if you don’t have a presence, which is why I continue to push officeholders and candidates to establish themselves on the available social networking sites…to at least have a chance at greater interaction with constituents and interested people around the state.
