What’s Next for Susan Parker?

Danny at Political Parlor and the AP noted earlier today that Susan Parker is running for another term on the Public Service Commission.  I take any opportunity I can to toot Susan’s horn.  She is one of those rare genuine people in politics.  I supported her in her attempt to become US Senator, and I thought she would have made a better replacement for Bud Cramer than Parker Griffith.  I hope she will make another attempt at higher office in the future, but in the meantime, she continues to be very well-respected, both within the state and outside it (as demonstrated by her election as president of the Southeastern Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and second VP of the National Association).

I think very highly of Susan Parker. She came to my place of employment a year or so ago and spoke with low-income utility customers struggling to pay their bills and keep their heat and lights on. This wasn’t Lady Bountiful coming down from on high to visit the peons; it was a genuine conversation with input from all sides. She knows the reality of these people’s lives, and she takes that with her when she makes decisions. I admire her tremendously.

(BTW, I don’t know who “Goat Hill” is. Would you mind enlightening me? birminghambluesATbellsouthDOTcom)

    Me too, Kristopher.

My mother has known Paul and Susan Parker for years and they’re both fine, honest people and good public servants.

Not sure why Goat Hill has a burr under his/her tail about her. And I’m with Kathy on the id… I’ve been dying to know who this person is and won’t publish the identity.

I just what to KNOW. pretty please… email me?
