On the flip side, money doesn’t buy votes. Just because you have a lot of money, it doesn’t make you a “credible” candidate. However, money DOES give you the ability to communicate your message to a statewide audience. There’s no TV advertising without money. There’s no radio, no billboards, no signage without money. There’s no travel around the state to meet the voters without money.

In addition, knowing this, if the people who support you aren’t willing to pony up some cash, doesn’t that say something about your candidacy?

We highlight these reports, not because the money decides the race, but because money is very important to being competitive, and the more we know about who is providing it, the better.
