Boilermakers Need Some Love   Comments

After seven straight wins and amassing an 8-1 record in the Big Ten conference…where is the Top 25 ranking for the Boilermakers?

I am so pleased at the success they are having this season.

Go Boilermakers!

Morgan Burke is In It Deep   Comments

Morgan Burke, Purdue’s Athletic Director, may have just cost himself an entire football coaching staff and possibly even his own job. It seems Morgan thought it would be a good idea to hire a consultant to find the coach to succeed his current one, Joe Tiller (whose under contract until the 2010 season), without informing Tiller until after they identified the guy.

Now Tiller is considering retiring and his whole staff may go with him…

If that happens, Burke’s head should be on the chopping block.

Purdue Survives   Comments

I’m a big believer that a win is a win, and Purdue pulled out a close one early in the season, which I think is always a good thing.

Watt Arrested, Kicked Off Purdue Basketball Team   Comments

I hate to hear about Gordon Watt and Keaton Grant getting into this kind of trouble, but I applaud Coach Painter for being quick and decisive in his response by removing Watt from the team and suspending Grant for three games.

We’re #25!   Comments

Yes, the Purdue Boilermakers have cracked the Top 25 (in the coaches poll, 26th in the AP voting) for the first time in two years. I have good feelings about this season, but we still have to face a revitalized Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State, so it’s no easy road, but we do have one of the top QB-WR combos in the country and experienced players on both sides of the ball.

Painter Leads Purdue to Win Over Central Michigan   Comments

I was able to watch the entirety of the Boilermakers win, and would have felt better if I had seen two full halves of effort. They played the best half of football so far this season in the first half, but then sputtered in the second half. They may not need to string halves together for another couple of games, but it would certainly help.

Congratulations to the Lady Boilermakers   Comments

The Lady Boilermakers Soccer team beat the #1 team in the country, Portland, in the Nike/Husky invitational in Seattle, Washington yesterday. I was there the last time a Purdue women’s team beat a #1 (the basketball team beat Tennessee) and it was electric. I know the women are psyched and ready for even bigger things this season.

Purdue Stomps Panthers 52-6   Comments

Purdue delivered exactly what they needed to today, stomping 1-AA Eastern Illinois. And considering the second sorry performance in a row by Michigan, we may be in for a higher finish in the Big Ten than we thought.

Lymon Will Receive Discipline, Unclear if He Will Play Today   Comments

I’m extremely disappointed to hear about Selwyn Lymon’s legal troubles. I too come from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and I followed his high school career closely. I thought this yar would finally be his time to shine.
