Evidently, those who want to continue believe in what is impossible, instead of what is impossible have now decided that sound bites are not enough. I appreciate the history lesson offered here, but while we can learn from history, I hope we can also learn from what happened in the last election cycle. Nothing is impossible.
I fully respect those who believe that Jim Folsom is the better candidate, but don’t tell me it’s because Artur Davis can’t win. It’s a non-starter. We can argue issues, we can even argue history, but the reality is that I hear echoes of the 2008 national election cycle in the rhetoric we are getting in this state. The Hillary Clinton supporters said we needed someone who had been through the trials, someone with experience, and that the country wasn’t ready. I read the same arguments in this piece. I didn’t believe the arguments then, I don’t believe them now.
Alabamians know this state has problems. Alabamians know we need solutions. Artur Davis is about solutions, Jim Folsom is about giving them the same tired worn out politics we’ve always had. Given that choice, I take Davis every time.
